Healthy snacks with algae
Do you need a little pick me up? We have created two easy recipes for when you need an energy boost but still want to keep it healthy. Algae contains many carbohydrates, especially fiber and high-quality protein. The fat content is very low. In addition to this it contains several different types of vitamins. The microalgae like chlorella provide protein, essential amino acids and minerals. They are known as a natural detox product and should promote the metabolism. It is the perfect addition to homemade energy bars.
Green Happy Bite

Try this fruity chlorella energy bar. Its easy to make and will last up to two weeks in the fridge.
Ingredients:
- 100 g coconut fat
- 100 g cashew nuts
- 100 g figs
- 50 g mixed dried berries
- 50 g pine nuts
- 2 tsp of chlorella powder
- a pinch of mineral salt
Directions:
Melt the coconut fat on the kitchen stove until it is clear and liquid.
In the meantime, pulverize the nuts and dried fruits with a mixer. Add the chlorella powder and the coconut fat to the crushed mass and mix it in a bowl. Flavour it with a bit of salt to create a more interesting flavour.
When satisfied with your mixture, put it on a sheet of backing paper on a chopping board and cover it with another sheet of backing paper. Then roll over it to spread the mass until it is about 1 cm thick. Put the mass in the freezer for half an hour
Slice in bars. The bars can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Sweet Energy Bite

To switch your energy bars up a bit, you can also try this variant.
Ingredients:
- 50 g honey
- 50 g peanut butter
- 2 tsp coconut oil
- 300 g oats
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp chlorella
- A pinch of mineral salt
- ½ tsp cinnamon
Directions:
Mix honey, peanut butter, and coconut oil in a bowl and melt in on the kitchen stove until it is clear and liquid. Mix the oats with cocoa powder and chlorella and add it to the liquid mixture. Season it with salt and cinnamon.
When satisfied with your mixture, put it on a sheet of baking paper and cover it with another sheet of baking paper. Then use a rolling pin to spread the mass until it is about 1 cm thick. Put the mass in the freezer for half an hour.
Slice in bars. Bars can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks
